WALIBI RHÔNE-ALPES PRESENTS MAHUKA, ITS NEW ATTRACTION IN 2024 !

Unique in Europe, it will mark the 45th anniversary of the most WAAA of the theme parks.

For almost 45 years, Walibi Rhône-Alpes has made it a point of honour to reinvent itself to meet the expectations of an ever-increasing number of visitors. As the park gets ready to blow out its 45 candles, it has a big surprise in store for visitors in spring 2024. Walibi is unveiling MAHUKA, its brand-new thrill ride! Unique in Europe, it will be inaugurated in one of the park’s three themed worlds: Exotic Island, and will allow visitors to step into the shoes of archaeologists as they discover an abandoned temple on an island in the South Pacifific...

An additional step to modernising the park

This new eagerly awaited attraction is part of a wider investment plan, presented in 2015 and designed to theme and modernise the park.
In total, 50 million euros will have been spent to transform the park over a 10-year period by adding new attractions, new restaurants, creating three immersive themed worlds, and modernising various infrastructures for both visitors and employees, to establish itself as one of France’s leading theme parks.

The new MAHUKA attraction is an integral part of the investments made to develop the Exotic Island themed world this anniversary season.
More than 10 million euros will be spent on developing and organising this area in 2024, including building and installing the attraction and the set design, landscaping the area and creating the new restaurant, Tiki Fruits, which will complete the attraction.

In addition to the investments linked to building the attraction, manufactured by Intamin, 79% of the investment budget has been awarded to local companies (from the Isère, Rhônes-Alpes, Savoie and Haute Savoie regions), in particular for all of the framework and project management (assembly, foundations, green spaces, building control offices, music, etc.).

An original track, specially designd for Walibi Rhône-Alpes, and a proven kinematics system

Through MAHUKA (which means to escape in Hawaiian), visitors are invited into the heart of the remains of an abandoned temple built in honour of a fifire god on an isolated island in the South Pacifific. But be careful not to provoke this God’s sacred fifire, or you’ll risk being trapped inside the temple! Escape from the site... escape your fears... once you’re inside the attraction, there’s no escaping the thrill of a lifetime!

This brand-new experience, which is an addition to the existing attractions and is the only one of its kind in Europe, promises a whole host of thrills, thanks in particular to an original track specially designed for Walibi Rhône-Alpes.
This attraction, which is aimed at the most daredevil riders, features two launches that will launch the trains at a maximum speed of 67 km/h, on a track that boasts no fewer than 13 airtimes!
Thanks to the trains’ individual seats, visitors will be able to enjoy the experience without having to sit opposite or next to each other, for a unique sensory experience as close as possible to the track. But these thrills aren’t just for grown-ups! To continue to offer WAAA to as many people as possible, this attraction will be accessible to children from 1m20, i.e., the height of the average 6 to 7 year old child (source: afpa.org growth curve).
